Well, the time has finaly come. The playoffs are here. As the Capitals prepare to open their playoffs with a home game against the Canadiens, it's time to forget about the regular season. All the acomplishments, all the excitement; wipe it from your mind. All that matters from now until the middle of June is the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs. The time for celebration is not now. Now, ladies and gentlement, is the time for work. The Caps have their best chance in franchise history to claim Lord Stanley's cup, to have their names forever remembered. There is only one goal left this season, and all our focus should be on that.
Alright. Now that that's out of the way....
Round 1, Game 1, PreCAP.
The Caps and Habs have their first game of their best-of-7 series tonight a Verizon Center. This game will be a nice indication of how the playoffs will go for the Caps. Will Jose Theodore manage to hold down the fort in net? Will the offense manage to keep it's success? So, notes:
- Nicklas Backstrom and Jose Theodore are reportedly set for tonight; Nicky was ill and Theo was hit with a shot yesterday.
- This is the Caps and Habs first playoff meeting ever.
- Several high seeds lost last night, so the Caps have an opportunity to show that they're better by winning.
