The Washington Capitals and the Carolina Hurricanes, Southeast Division rivals, face off tonight for the sixth and final time this season. The past few games have been rough; the ‘Canes took the last one 4-3 in OT about a week ago. Tonight’s setup is pretty similar; Caps vs ‘Canes in Raleigh, NC. Varlamov will be in net for the Capitals; Boudreau reportedly said that he expects “a full 60 minute effort” from Varly, a thing that he has had trouble producing since his return from injury.

With a Caps win tonight, and a New Jersey loss to the Rangers, the Capitals can clinch the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference, and, with a win, also break the franchise season-points record.

The Caps will be missing Brooks Laich tonight with a face injury, and Jeff Schultz and Shaone Morrisonn will be taking a well-deserved rest. The “Canes will be missing Tuomo Ruutu, who earlier sustained a shoulder injury that will require surgery.

Anyway, the game starts at 7:00 PM tonight. Tune into CSN (Comcast Sports Net) Washington to watch the game live! Enjoy!
