PreCAP (3/20/10)

Today, the Washington Capitals and Tampa Bay Lightning play for the sixth and final time this season. To say that the results have been varied….. is possibly an understatement. Here are the final scores for the first five meetings:

12/7/09 Washington Win Final Score: 3-0
1/12/10 Tampa Bay Win Final Score: 7-4
1/31/10 Washington Win Final Score: 3-2
3/4/10 Washington Win Final Score: 5-4
3/12/10 Tampa Bay Win Final Score: 3-2

This game could go either way. Even though tonight’s matchup means very little for the Capitals, a win is always nice, and they’d be two points closer to the franchise record of 108 points. Plus, they’d be opening up their already large gap separating the Caps from San Jose and Chicago.

Some things to look for in tonight’s game…..

- ALEXANDER OVECHKIN IS FINALLY BACK!! Will Ovechkin score, will he not get a point….. the thing is, Henrik Sedin is catching up to Ovechkin in the points race, and Crosby still has one more goal than Ovechkin for the NHL lead…. I’d like to see these things rectified.
- Jose Theodore is reportedly in net tonight. How will he do? Will he show Boudreau that he deserves the #1 goalie spot? It’s his for the taking right now.
- Eric Fehr hit 20 goals in the last game. Mike Green has 17 at the moment. Will Fehr and Green score, and if so, how much?

Tonight’s game starts at 7:30 PM in Tampa Bay. Enjoy!
