PreCAP (3/18/10)

(Photo from Yahoo)

Once again, the Washington Capitals will meet the Carolina Hurricanes, in a battle of Southeast Division “rivals”, thought the Caps have already clinched the division. Alexander Ovechkin will be serving the second and final game of his suspension. Semyon Varlamov will be in net for the Capitals, and AHL call up Justin Peters will be in net for the Hurricanes.

Honestly, this game should be a Washington Capitals blowout victory, as the Capitals inch ever closer to the franchise regular-season points record (108, they have 103 right now). However, I would like to see at least an attempt at minimizing Carolina goals; ideally, Varly would get a shutout, bolstering his confidence in advance of the playoffs. While this is unlikely, it is very possible, considering the Hurricane’s troubles this season. Anyway, game starts at 7:00 PM. Enjoy!

Oh, please enjoy this video as well. I like it; its very well done, and its very up-to-date. The “Caps Rap”…..
